Alectra Utilities and Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games

Problem: Large events like the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games require significant energy resources, and communities face the challenge of supporting these events sustainably while advancing their long-term climate goals.

Solution: As the Official Energy Supplier, Alectra stepped in to power the games and the community through innovative solutions. One highlight is the Henley Rowing Centre, equipped with a state-of-the-art solar panel system #PoweredbyAlectra, allowing the Centre to generate its own clean energy.

Impact: This technology supports the City of St. Catharines’ sustainability vision, helping Alectra work toward net-zero emissions by 2050 while leaving a lasting legacy for the community.
